現在完了の文での「since 〜」は「〜から（過去から）現在まで」の意味ですが、過去完了の文での「since 〜」は「〜から（大過去から）過去まで」の意味になります。「from」には「現在まで」「過去まで」の意味がないので、「since」の代わりに「from」を使うことはできません。
